Install updates

In this step, the pCon.update DataClient executes the following processes:

•Download of the required installation packages

•Verification of the packages

•Installation of the packages

These processes are executed automatically and usually don’t require your intervention. The status bars keeps you informed about the current process and the time remaining for the current step.

Step 1: Download

In the first step, the packages you selected are downloaded.

Note: You can abort the download at any time. Please note that in this case you have to download again all packages that had already been downloaded, if you decide later to restart the update.

Step 2: Checking packages

The installation packages are then checked for transmission errors and defective packages. If errors are detected, the installation is canceled automatically. If you only want to install a few packages, this step is carried out so quickly that it is not displayed. This is no error.

Note: You can also abort the package verification, if necessary. Please note that this case also requires a new download of all packages, if you restart the update process later on.

Step 3: Installation

As soon as download and package verification have been successfully completed, the installation is automatically launched.

Note: You cannot abort this process any more because partly installed packages are frequently inconsistent and would result in the fact that your applications would not work correctly any longer.
