Administrator rights

For using the DataClient administrator rights are required. According to the specification of Microsoft, changes on the system (e.g Installation of applications) are feasible only by the administrators. The DataClient considers this specification.

As a rule, also for the installation of OFML Data administrator rights are required. The OFML data are shared for all users. For mutual protection of the user against unexpected changes in the OFML data, such changes in the OFML data are normally allowed only for administrators. A separate installation of OFML data for each user is normally not useful. Often all users use the same data. Furthermore, a separate installation would cause unnecessary disk space consumption and unnecessary downloads.

Used directories and registry path

The following table contains a detailed listing of those directories and registry path for which the DataClient needs access rights. For the installation or uninstallation of the EGR applications, further access rights are required to other directories or registry paths, depending on the respective application.
